COVID 19 – ITS UP TO US TO STOP THE SPREAD

Rushda Ebrahim Khan | Compliance Division

Like the rest of the world, South Africans will remember 2020 as a year like no other!!!

As COVID-19 took hold of the world, countries and cities entered lockdown with the closure of schools, cultural and sports venues and all non-essential businesses. Prior to COVID-19 concepts such as “lockdown,” “compulsory mask wearing” and “social distancing” were unheard of. Today, they are part of our everyday language not only in South Africa but throughout the world as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact all aspects of our lives.

At Al Baraka Bank, we are proud of our commitment to assist in stopping the spread of the virus and have invested much time and resources to ensure that the necessary precautions are taken and protective measures put in place to enhance the safety of our employees, customers and service providers. Our staff are always kept abreast of the new guidelines and developments issued by the Government, in order to ensure the safety of our employees during this pandemic and also to ensure that all clients receive the best service in the safest possible way.

As a new variant of the Coronavirus is spreading rapidly throughout the country, Al Baraka Bank would like to take this opportunity to re-emphasise the safety measures that everyone should adhere to.

Always wear a mask and be sure to wear it correctly covering your nose, mouth and chin.

Consistently sanitise your hands especially after touching items or surfaces.

Remember to wash your hands frequently.

Practice social distancing.

This global crisis is far from over. So please practice the above safety measures to try to reduce the transmission of the virus and protect each other.

Al Baraka Bank conveys its deepest sympathies to all those who have lost their loved ones due to the pandemic and we pray for the quick recovery of those that are suffering from the virus. Together we can flatten the curve and protect each other from the spread of the virus.
