 There is no fee applicable to the payee (the person initiating the request), however the payer (the person approving the request) is liable for the fee.

PayShap payment are Free for transactions between R 0.01 – R 200.00

A fee of R10.00 will apply for transactions of R 200.01 and above

How to Apply

The steps for making a PayShap payment are as follows:

1. Log in to the Albaraka Mobile App
2. Tap the Transactional Banking tile
3. Tap Payments
4. Select PayShap from the tabs at the top of the screen
5. Tap Make PayShap Payment
6. Select the type of PayShap payment: paying to a ShapID, Shap Name, or account
7. Enter the ShapID
8. Capture the amount and the reference

How to Make a PayShap Payment Request

1. Log in to the Albaraka Mobile App
2. Tap the Transactional Banking tile
3. Select Payments from the navigation bar
4. Choose the PayShap tab at the top of the screen
5. Select PayShap Request
6. Tap Send Request Payment

1. Log in to the Albaraka Banking App on your phone.
2. Tap on the Transactional Banking tile.
3. In the top right corner, select the Settings (gear icon).
4. Choose the PayShap option.
5. Tap Register ShapID.
6. Enter your Mobile Number (e.g. 0823456789).
7. Add a display name (e.g. Sayed Muhammed).
8. Select the account where money should be received, then Next.
9. Tap Register ShapID.
10. An OTP screen will appear and an OTP will be sent to the mobile number captured.
11. Enter the OTP.
12. Tap Next.
13. A confirmation screen will show your ShapName registration is successful.
14. Tap OK to finish.

1. Log in to the Albaraka Banking App on your phone.
2. Tap on the Transactional Banking tile.
3. In the top right corner, select the Settings (gear icon).
4. Choose the PayShap option.
5. Tap Register Shap Name.
6. Enter your unique name (e.g. SayedM).
7. Add a display name (e.g. Sayed Muhammed).
8. Select the account where money should be received, then Next.
9. Tap Register Shap Name.
10. A confirmation screen will show your ShapName registration is successful.
11. Tap OK to finish.
