Al Baraka Bank Spreads Warmth with Blanket Drive 2025
As winter tightens its grip on South Africa, Al Baraka Bank has once again stepped up to provide warmth and comfort to those in need through its Annual Blanket Drive 2025. This year, in collaboration with esteemed NPOs, the bank successfully distributed more than 1000 blankets across three major cities, ensuring that vulnerable communities received much-needed relief from the cold.
The initiative, which embodies the bank’s commitment to spreading warmth beyond banking, saw approximately 300 blankets delivered in each region:
• Cape Town – In partnership with Hakuna Matata, blankets were distributed to those facing the harsh realities of winter without proper shelter.
• Johannesburg – Working alongside Saaberie Chisty, the bank extended a helping hand to individuals in dire need of warmth and comfort.
• Durban – Through collaborations with Human Aid, blankets were provided to the homeless and underprivileged, offering them a layer of protection against the elements.
Cheryl Ramkumar, CSR Officer for Al Baraka Bank, emphasized the importance of such initiatives:
“Winter is unforgiving for those without proper shelter or resources. Our Blanket Drive is more than just a donation; it’s about providing dignity, comfort, and care to the most vulnerable in our communities. We are immensely grateful to our NPO partners for helping us extend warmth where it’s needed most.”
Through the Blanket Drive 2025, Al Baraka Bank reaffirms its dedication to social responsibility, ensuring that compassion, community, and care remain at the heart of its operations.
